About the Dad Jam

Welcome to the first and original Dad Jam on the web.

What is a Jam, you ask?

A Jam is an event in which creative people gather to collaborate. Just like jam in a jar, the result is a mix of all individual contributions that creates something new, distinctive and greater than the sum of its parts. The result is something that would not have been possible without each unique contribution.

A Jam is an opportunity for us to learn from each other and gain a new perspective on problems and challenges. It also allows us to expand our networks and connect with others. A Jam is fun, and is like Jamming at a Jam session with a bunch of like-minded and talented individuals.

The Dad Jam is a large-scale web conversation on various fatherhood topics. It is the one and only, and therefore biggest :-) , Dad Jam on the web! Moms and dads-to-be are welcome to jam as well of course!

I am the Head Jammer and I lead the Jam by starting topics for us to Jam about. These topics are stories or articles in the form of a blog post. They pose questions for us to discuss and learn from each other from.  When I talk about my own family in my jams, I refer to my wife as Love Buns, my toddler son as Smarty Pants and my baby daughter as Sweet Cheeks.

Join the Jam by posting comments or sending me a request to publish your own article to start a Jam session.

You can also send me requests for topics to start a Jam about. We be Jammin’ about everything here… any fatherhood issue you face, advice, tips, tricks, humour, observations, what works, what doesn’t work, how to stay sane and more! We’re glad to have you here and wish you happy Jamming!

Cheers,

Your Head Jammer
